For fans of Steve Backshall or animal fans in general, this would make a great activity for any rainy days this summer holidays. It has lots of different puzzles which would be great for all ages of children: there are mazes and pair matching games for the younger children and wordsearches and scrambled words for the older children.
The book has lots of great puzzles, although I did find that the numbers on the dot to dot are very small, which I think will make it difficult for young children to complete. There are quizes which could be a starting point for further investigation and research, and illustrations throughout the book which could be copied by art loving children.
In summary, I think that this is a good book to have in reserve for a rainy day activity. It contains activities for children aged 5-10 and can be used as a starting point for projects or research.
